Chinese Gold Miners Letter

你好。我把這件事寫回中國人民身上。我希望你們倖存下來。我認為這對你來說就像是地獄。現在我不在這裡。我們住在這些由稻草和金屬製成的非常小的小屋裡,而且他們非常骯髒。我們非常幸運,因為我們有一個可以講英語的商人,他們可以和新西蘭人交談。我希望這個消息很快會到達你,並且你的公民在家裡玩得很開心。

Hello. I am writing this back to the people of China. I hope you guys are surviving okay. I reckon it is like hell for you. It isn’t any better where I am now. We live in these really small huts made of straw and metal, and they are very grimy. We are very lucky because we have a merchant who can speak English, and they can talk to the New Zealanders. I hope this message reaches you soon, and that you citizens are having fun at home.

Week 11 Blogger | Term 1

1. What are expectations and values? Use a dictionary to define each word. Expectations - Belief about (or mental picture of) the future.
Values - Beliefs of a person or social group in which they have an emotional investment (either for or against something)



2. Why do we have expectations and values in our classroom, school and community?
We have them so the class doesn't break down and catch on fire.



3. What are some of the expectations in your classroom? Respect and encourage eachother.



4. How do your classroom expectations influence your learning? They influence it by applying it to our work.



5. What would your classroom be like if you had no expectations and you could do whatever you wanted? Let's just say there wouldn't be a classroom. Only debris.



6. If you could make an expectation for your class what would it be and why? Don't steal stationary. Stealing is wrong.



7. What are your school values? How are they displayed in your classroom and at your school?
? Respect, Excellence, and Perserverance. They are displayed on the walls.



8. How do you get recognised for displaying your school values? By getting a REP Card from your teacher.



9. How do you think your school values link to your learning in your classroom?
Because in order to persevere, you need to complete work to a high standard.



10. What are your family values and why are they important? If you don't have any come
up with some - what would be important values in your family and why? Stay at the table until everyone has finished. It helps you stay and chat about what happened.

1. What schools did your teacher go to when they were growing up? St Claire Primary,
Tahuna Intermediate and Otago Boys High School.



2. What is your favourite thing about your teacher and why is that important
to you? The fact that he is nice and young. It really helps that he is chilled.




3. What does your teacher enjoy doing when they are away from school? Going to the beach or hanging out with friends and family.



4. What made them want to be a teacher? He just did.



5. What is it about your school that your teacher likes the most? Meeting new people.



6. Why are his/her favourite students? Brocky



7. If your teacher could do another job what would it be and why? Be the boss of a business.



8. What do you think your teacher would be great at if they were not a teacher? Kicking his feet up on his Boss' desk



9. Why do you think it is important that you get to know your teacher? So it is not awkward

Q1: What is your favourite subject at school and why?

My favourite subject is Reading. It is nice and peaceful.




Q2: Do you have any pets? What are they and what are their names? If you don't have a pet what pet would you have if you did?

I have a pet dog named Mitch. He is a very nice puppy with fluffy ears.




Q3: What are some of your favourite foods?

Burgers. This also happens to be my group at Mahi Time.




Q4: What is your favourite sport? What do you like about it?

Football. It is a fast-paced sport with lots of running and mud.




Q5: What is your favourite hobby?

Playing games online with my friends.





Q6: Who do you live with?

I live with my mum and dad, and also my brother Cam, and Mitch

Q8: The Census video talks about finding out if there are enough parks. Do you have a park in your suburb? Do you think your suburb needs a park or a better park? What would make it better?

I happen to have a dog park near my house. It is a very fascinating place to be because you can see all of the dogs sniffing each other's behinds.






Q9: Why do you think the government does a Census every 5 years?

So they can see around how many people live there so they know how many houses to build.

Q1.  What do you use the internet for most? What's the first site that you go? google drive

Q4.  What are the best ways for learning about online safety? looking it up.

Q5.  What is a digital footprint and why are they important? Watch this video to help with your answer. it is basically your history. it leaves a mark on where you have been.

Q6.  What are some important things to consider when taking part in Blogger? don't put stupid things in your posts. 

Q7.  Should schools be using social media in the classroom and why?no. some naughty kids could post bad comments.

Q8.  How do we know which websites and people to trust online? usually, it will have a lock or a.nz.

Q9.  Does anyone know any website/resources or Apps to share about Cybersafety? no.

Q10.  Do you have any tips or advice for Miss Mordue and Miss Bull when we are teaching cyber safety to the new Year 7's? don't watch videos of people who swear.

  1. What are your interests, talents or passions? Minecraft and coding.
  2. How do you get to learn about your interests in the classroom? Give us an example. I get to learn through coding club. 
  3. Do you think it's important for children to have time each week to learn about something that they're interested in? Why? yes. It will make us like our teachers more.
  4. What is the world's most important invention so far? How does it affect your life? the lightbulb. it helps us see.
  5. The Kid President wanted to invent a Catuum Cleaner. What would you like to invent to make the world more awesome? Fart remover. it gets rid of stinky smells. 
  6. The top 10 jobs in 2017 didn't exist in 2007. What jobs do you think there will be in 10 years time? Sewer monitor. they protect the sewers.
  7. Inventive thinking requires taking risks, being curious and thinking skills. How do you do this in the classroom? focus.
  8. Is creativity important? How can we encourage creativity in the classroom? give kids things like Genious Hour.
  9. Sometimes we get stuck with our learning and have to problem solve. What does good problem-solving look like? fixing something.
