If you want the translation, here you go

Hello. I am writing this back to the people of China. I hope you guys are surviving okay. I reckon it is like hell for you. It isn’t any better where I am now. We live in these really small huts made of straw and metal, and they are very grimy. We are very lucky because we have a merchant who can speak English, and they can talk to the New Zealanders. I hope this message reaches you soon, and that you citizens are having fun at home.

1. What are expectations and values? Use a dictionary to define each word. Expectations - Belief about (or mental picture of) the future.
Values - Beliefs of a person or social group in which they have an emotional investment (either for or against something)

2. Why do we have expectations and values in our classroom, school and community?
We have them so the class doesn't break down and catch on fire.

3. What are some of the expectations in your classroom? Respect and encourage eachother.

4. How do your classroom expectations influence your learning? They influence it by applying it to our work.

5. What would your classroom be like if you had no expectations and you could do whatever you wanted? Let's just say there wouldn't be a classroom. Only debris.

6. If you could make an expectation for your class what would it be and why? Don't steal stationary. Stealing is wrong.

7. What are your school values? How are they displayed in your classroom and at your school?
? Respect, Excellence, and Perserverance. They are displayed on the walls.

8. How do you get recognised for displaying your school values? By getting a REP Card from your teacher.

9. How do you think your school values link to your learning in your classroom?
Because in order to persevere, you need to complete work to a high standard.

10. What are your family values and why are they important? If you don't have any come
up with some - what would be important values in your family and why? Stay at the table until everyone has finished. It helps you stay and chat about what happened.
