McDonald's Beginnings

First of all, McDonald’s is everyone’s favourite fast food. People might love it, but also might not know how McDonald’s started and how it has evolved throughout the many years that it has lived on our planet.

McDonalds’ first store

McDonald’s was first invented by the McDonald brothers, Richard and Maurice, in 1940. The McDonald brothers were born in Manchester, New Hampshire. Their parents were travellers from Ireland. Their father worked as a shift manager in a New Hampshire shoe factory. In the late 1920s, the brothers moved to California. The first functioning McDonald’s was in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA.

Now for a question - How many McDonald’s restaurants are there in the world as of 2016? The answer -

36,899 restaurants,

They serve around 68 million customers each day, (worldwide) and

McDonald’s has employed around 375,000 people

The Founder

Now. There is a movie called The Founder, which talks about McDonald’s in the beginning. (SPOILER ALERT!!!) The brothers were making quite a lot of money, until Ray Kroc came along. The McDonalds brothers sold the McDonald’s franchise to Ray Kroc, for about 2.7 billion dollars. He then went on to make all of the McDonald’s restaurants that we know and eat from.

In real life, Kroc was a red cross driver in World War I

Now, for a question EVEN BIGGER than before. The question being - How much money is McDonald’s worth? In total McDonald’s is worth around one hundred billion dollars.

The Menu

McDonald’s used to be made up of 15c burgers, 10c fries, and so on so forth. But that was all before when we had a 1c piece.

Overall Thoughts

Anyways,  McDonald’s was (and still is) a really cheap, affordable and yummy food to have as a treat maybe once every two and a half weeks. an example of what you could get  McDonald’s for: (Getting Man Of The Match, behaving well, doing a good deed; ETC)

Symptomy Symptoms

But, kids have gotten too attached to McDonald’s, and because of it, they eat it on an everyday basis. These kids would mostly get these symptoms

1. Chubbiness
2. Obeseity
3. Handicapped
4. Type 2 Diabetes
5. Addiction

       

Macca’s Mascots

The first McDonald’s mascot was named Speedee.

Nowadays, the new McDonald’s mascot is Ronald McDonald

In conclusion,  McDonald’s has grown from being a small stand in California, USA, to being one of the biggest fast food franchises in the world.
